BC certified Chemistry tutors
Most of our Chemistry tutors have experience teaching in the high school system and are familiar with the contents taught in the BC curriculum. If not, they have a relevant graduate degree and subject matter expertise.
Additionally, all of our tutors are screened and have passed their criminal record checks. Our tutors love to teach, and our students benefit from working with them.
For students struggling with Chemistry
Chemistry in a way it makes sense
Chemistry is the study of matter and the changes it goes through. In High School, students will study Organic Chemistry, the properties of matter, energy changes and rates of reaction, chemical systems, and electrochemistry. It requires knowledge from previous Science grade 10 and 9 and can get complicated if the student doesn’t keep up with the content.
Chemistry grade 11 and Chemistry grade 12 are elective subjects, however most reputable colleges will require all undergraduate students to take at least one chemistry course as a prerequisite to graduation.
As with most Science subjects, there is a lot of content to memorize. Our Chemistry tutors help their students to understand concepts intuitively and problem solve. We support Chemistry learning by teaching the way that makes sense to students.
Chemistry doesn’t have to be hard
Many students struggle studying Chemistry, especially Organic Chemistry. But it doesn’t have to be that way! During our Chemistry tutoring lessons, tutors provide constructive feedback to students based on their performance and goals. Students feel better prepared for exams and have increased confidence.
How much is a Chemistry tutor in Vancouver?
Investing in tutoring often renews a student’s confidence and boosts their academic results. At TTS, we offer affordable tutoring services for you and your family. The cost for Chemistry tutoring is as follows:
No commitments or contracts
With TTS, you are not required to commit to any number of lessons, nor do we require you to sign a contract. It is a pay as you go system. You pay for each lesson when it takes place.
Our tutors are available to help with both short term needs (as short as one session) as well as ongoing tutoring, for those that are looking for help for a semester or a school year.
Organic Chemistry Tutors
Organic Chemistry studies reactions of organic compounds and organic materials. It is definitively not an easy subject to study. In fact, Organic Chemistry is often pointed out as one of the hardest topics to study at college and high school because of its breadth and depth. Many students struggle to grasp a clear understanding because they are required to learn complex concepts at a fast pace and apply them to problem-solving.
Our Chemistry tutors do their best to explain challenging topics slowly and steadily, as well as provide practice problems that the student can attempt on their own before viewing the solution.
Chemistry Upgrading
If you are planning to go back to school, especially in the health area, you might have to upgrade your Chemistry grades in order to be accepted to a college/university institution. Most entrance requirements for health courses, such as Nursing for example, require Chemistry 11 or Chemistry 12 with a passing grade of over 70%.
Obtaining such a high mark can be a challenge if you’ve been out of school for a while. In these cases, we recommend getting a Chemistry tutor to help you catch up with the content.

Cost of tutoring broken down
TTS is a non profit society – as such, our goal is to provide you with affordable, high quality tutoring, while minimizing cost. The bulk of the $55/hr hourly rate is paid to the tutor, while a small portion covers off TTS administration and staffing charges.
Additionally, a portion of the tutoring rate is donated to TAS Tutoring Aid Society. TAS is our registered BC charity that provides subsidized tutoring services to students that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford tutoring.
