Who we are:
We are a non-profit society run by people who understand the school system. When you join Teachers’ Tutoring Service (TTS), you
become part of a network of qualified BC teachers.
Unemployed and underemployed teachers started TTS in 1983 for students who needed personalized tutoring. Our tutors are held to a code of ethics in addition to the BC Teachers’ Federation Code of Ethics: we take the business of tutoring seriously.
Who are we looking for:
BC Certified teachers are welcome to apply. You must have a minimum of Bachelor of Education degree as well as experience teaching in BC schools.
We welcome full time teachers, TOCs, as well as retired teachers. We seek teachers of all subjects and grades, including primary and middle school, English, Math, Sciences, French and other subjects.
If you do not have BC Teacher Certificate, but do have professional teaching experience, you are still welcome to apply, however you must meet the following requirements:
- At least Master’s Degree in your chosen field
- Previous teaching experience at a high school or college level
- Two letters of professional reference, relevant to your teaching experience.
Teachers who would like to join our service require the following documents:
- A BC Ministry Of Education Teaching Certificate or a BC College of Teacher’s Teaching Certificate
- A current résumé
- Two reference letters

We will review your résumé. Tutors are selected according to the demand for tutoring in their subjects and areas. Once you have been selected, you will be contacted regarding an orientation where all necessary information about our service and procedures will be covered.
