How much is a tutor in the Vancouver Island?
At TTS, we offer affordable tutoring services for you and your family. The cost for tutoring is as follows:
No commitments or contracts
With TTS, you are not required to commit to any number of lessons, nor do we require you to sign a contract. It is a pay as you go system. You pay for each lesson when it takes place.
Our tutors are available to help with both short term needs (as short as one session) as well as ongoing tutoring, for those that are looking for help for a semester or a school year.
Do you offer in-person tutoring on Vancouver Island?
We offer in-person tutoring exclusively in the Lower Mainland, but provide online tutoring across the entire province.
Will online tutoring work for me?
The vast majority of clients that try online tutoring find success. Our tutors have individualized their online delivery to suit the subject matter and their teaching style. Online tutoring uses video chat technology equipped with whiteboards and many other educational applications. At TTS, we don’t use a “one-size fits all” solution, rather, our tutors tailor their teaching to each student’s needs.
The tutor is teaching your student only, and is able to give them the same individual attention that they could if they were sitting together. In addition, our tutors are still local and are trained to deliver the BC curriculum – and they’ve been working online for several years now, bringing experience and expertise.

Silviu played a huge role in my journey
I have worked the past 4 years with Silviu, pretty much my entire high school career. He has been such an excellent tutor always making sure I am prepared, having patience with me when I struggle, and constantly pushing me to excel towards my best. Especially when it came to the University applications season he was very helpful. With his guidance I was able to get a 97% in grade 11 math, a 99% in grade 12, a 94% in Calculus 12, and a 92% in Physics 11. Clearly my results reflect his efforts as it were not for his extra guidance I would have not understood to course material as deeply. I definitely recommend him to any student who wants to work hard towards a high average and get into a good University. This fall I will enter at the University of Toronto. Teachers tutoring service has played a significant role in R. education. Jack k. has done some great work with R., we are very grateful to have him, he is a wonderful tutor. Since R. has started with teachers tutoring service he has gone from kindergarten level English to grade 9 English, reading and writing. This is a miracle! I was told from professional that it would be impossible for him to improve this much in such a short period of time, but he has, with the help of teachers tutoring service. Cost of tutoring broken down
TTS is a non profit society, and as such, our goal is to provide you with affordable, high quality tutoring, while minimizing cost. The bulk of the $57/hr hourly rate is paid to the tutor, while a small portion of it covers the TTS administration and staffing costs. In addition, TTS then donates a small part of this amount to TAS Tutoring Aid Society, our registered BC charity that provides subsidized tutoring services to students that wouldn’t otherwise be able to afford tutoring.
